    Our client is a leading Interiors business.

     They design inspired products for the interiors market. Their in house design studio has created collections inspired directly from the most current trends. They recognise that we all demand a lot from our places of retreat. Whether it is a stage on which to entertain, a sanctuary at the end of the day, or a more practical place to work,they  will have a collection or product  that will bring that little injection of colour and design into the home without breaking the bank.

    As part of their growth plan they are looking to take on a new National Account Manager to manage their Grocery Channel business.
    As a National Account Manager with  you will be personally responsible for managing and developing the relationship with the National Account's retailers within the home decoration category. This is an exciting time to join a growing business where you will be in a position to make an impact and progress further in the organisation.

    Responsibilities: 
     
    Actively drive sales & customer profitability per account by constructing & implementing shared account growth plans to achieve set targets
    Execute company processes & policies at accounts (margin, pricing, marketing logistics)
    Ensure Sales targets per account are achieved per FY with regular reviews 
    Actively seek & position new concepts and promotional plans per customer ensuring an added value relationship with the account.
    Ensure competition is actively benchmarked and acted upon 
    Give structured feedback and conclusions from customers
    Work clearly and concisely with internal multi-functional teams 
     
    In terms of the day to day activities, the role holder will develop and place account specific promotional material, generate & act upon account specific Retailer knowledge/insights, create and implement account plans & budgeting.
     The role-holder will also be responsible for customer pricing (invoice) within set terms, overall customer terms, account profitability and account activation of promotion plans campaigns (BTL). Sales forecasting, new line forms,
     post launch check for NPD launches also fall under the role holders remit.
     
    The successful candidate will have demonstrable sales and account management experience. You will ideally have a passion for the DIY/home decoration/homewares market, with strong experience of dealing with multiple retailers. 
     
    You will be able to manage a customer P&L, be an excellent negotiator and a strong team player. The role requires someone who is willing to develop new skills, is versatile and happy to support others in their activities as and when required. To succeed in the role, you must be able to work within a change environment and help to define new processes and ways of working. The successful candidate will thrive on autonomy and enjoy working in fast paced ambitious culture/environment.

    SUMMARY:
    Key Accountabilities
    To deliver superior and winning collaborative customer relationship management
    Negotiation of annual business plan with key customer contact(s)
    Achievement of budgeted profit targets with accurate forecasting
    Introduction of NPD
    Cross functional working with Buyers, their Supply chain and category support teams
    Drive change across different store formats by networking and engaging with the customer in new ways at every opportunity
    Gain distribution of core products
    Negotiation of annual promotional plan and customer trading terms.
    Regular joint customer reviews of performance against agreed plan targets
    Internal management of investment programme
     
    Skills and Experience
     Experience of working on both branded/own label decorative product essential
    Extensive national accounts experience across DIY, home retailers, and supermarkets  
    P&L accountability and experience of negotiating and improving Annual Customer Business Plans/trading terms essential
    Experience of managing and tracking budgets essential
    Excellent numerical and analytical skills
    Exceptional communication and influencing skills
    Proven commercial and analytical skills with a solution driven approach essential
    PC literate (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
    Self-motivated with a desire to succeed
    Adaptable with the ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment
    Ability to operate under pressure and work to tight deadlines
    Experience managing fashion/trend driven product categories desirable
