      Role

    To be the leading light of our client's Grocery business.
    The purpose of this role is to continue growing the development of the grocery channel for their leading brands
     

    Job Scope

    This role will be responsible for analysing and understanding the current channel business and continuing to scope out the customer & strategic channel 
    plans.  You will be responsible for continuing to manage and maximise existing customer relationships, along with developing additional opportunities 
    around formats and fixtures.  You will be completely responsible for the P&L of your accounts and ensuring that all sales & profit targets are met, 
    along with customer activation and visibility plans. This role and will be expected to support people & initiatives across the sales team and actively 
    work alongside the Sales Director in order to develop and execute the company wide commercial plans & strategies.
     
    DIMENSIONS:
    External
    To profitably and effectively manage & develop customer partnerships at all levels
    To ensure activation of agreed plans that meet sales, distribution & financial objectives
    To professionally represent the business and brand at all times
    To actively contribute to all elements of the commercial plan, whether directly part of responsibility or not
    Once plans are built and agreed, display an ongoing relentless focus on execution, distribution & availability to ensure consumer interaction is maximized in all outlets
     
    Internal
    To ensure spend, ROI, volume sales, value sales, distribution plans, promo plans, etc are activated
    To fully contribute to the wider sales plan & strategy irrespective of business/channel responsibility.
    You will be the internal champion for your accounts and will be responsible for ensuring they get the appropriate level of support and recognition required from the rest of the business
     
    Skills
    Strong commercial skills, including negotiation & customer management, including creation and management of P&Ls, commercial proposals
    Analytical and numerate, with experience of turning this into action.  Experienced in developing ABPs/JBPs in a way that cuts through unnecessary complexity and focuses on the key programs that will deliver growth and/or a change
    Excellent communication skills coupled with the drive, and passion to add value at any level of brand interaction (internal, customer and consumer)
    Detail orientated and familiar with both Excel and ERP systems.  The ability to manipulate, analyse and report data effectively
    Can effectively work under your own initiative and possesses the resourcefulness to highlight and follow through with challenges & opportunities alike
    Ideally, experience of grocery with the ability and ambition to be able to operate in other channels/parts of the business in the future and input tactically from day 1 
    The ability to be hands on and strategic in equal measure and as required
