  • National Account Manager,Beauty, London
    • Location: Central London.

    Our client is one of the most progressive beauty organisations in the world. They have an outstanding portfolio of beauty products that customers love to use around the world.

    They are constantly growing and innovating and will shortly be in the very top tier of the market following one of the most high profile mergers seen in the industry for some years.

    As part of their growth they are looking to recruit a new National Account Manager.


    The account management of specified customers to build profitable sales growth across a specific business pillars.
    Business Planning
    Review Company Reports to build an understanding of customer objectives and direction
    Plan, develop, agree and implement an annual Joint Business plan with the specified customer
    Monitor, progress and review business plans with the customer and with the Sales Controller activating contingency plans when needed
    Design an annual promotional programme for each brand in liaison across all platforms (in store and on line) with UK Marketing to deliver national marketing plan, sales objectives, customer and consumer needs
    Maximise commercial value of consumer insight data from IRI, NPD, TGI etc.
    Agree promotional forecast with Demand Planning to support the achievement of annual Forecasting Accuracy objectives
    Agree monthly promotional support packages with customers including second sites, trade marketing and on line support
    Review pre and post promotional activity analysis to maximise key learnings
    Agree listings for all new products and brands as appropriate
    Negotiate cost price changes with the customer as appropriate
    Submit all cost price change paperwork to the account and internally in an accurate and timely manner
    Agree additional distribution/space for  brands when appropriate

    Forecasting/Supply Chain
    Build contacts with the forecasting and supply chain teams within the customer to work together to manage the most cost effective supply chain delivering all potential operational efficiencies
    Attend and contribute to monthly Review meetings with Marketing and Demand Planning
    Attend and contribute to twice monthly Forecast review meetings with Demand Planning
    Plan, prepare and manage account meetings with cross functional contacts: Buying, supply, POS, store
    Attend and present project group work at annual conference
    Financial responsibilities
    Manage monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts and provide rationale to Sales Controller
    Provide weekly latest estimates on sales projections to the Sales Controller with confirmation of upsides and action plans to alleviate shortfalls
    Manage Gross to net controls to optimise profitability
    Manage an investment plan to drive consumer awareness whilst maximising profitability
    Deliver maximum consumer engagement from trade investment
    Control and minimise the detrimental impact of returns on profitability
    Review optimum investment of trade price reductions to deliver strong promotional consumer engaging messages
    Accurately prepare financial accrual requests and implement these with the Commercial team
    Work with the customer and Customer Services to minimise receivables to achieve target Debtor days for the customer
    Authorise all invoices for payment within 7 days of receipt or manage prompt agreement to amend or cancel invoices if raised in error by the customer
    Ensure customers are provided with Terms and Conditions
    Account Management experience and a passion for the Health and Beauty sector
    Communicates effectively, delivering impactful presentations and is able to negotiate and influence
    Shows a strong sense of individual accountability and able to work with autonomy
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills and can manage cross functional relationships
    Proficient Excel, numeracy and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
    Is a change champion and pioneers new ideas and approaches
    Committed to deliver results and goes after the stretch target
    Demonstrates a sense of urgency and knows when to act and when to wait
    Has a flexible approach and adapts to challenges and changing priorities as needed 
    Organises their own work and that of others, taking responsibility for the quality of all deliverables
    Strong team player and collaborates easily with others, willing to help and learn from others and shares relevant information with the team
    Focuses on the needs of the customer
    Commercially aware with experience in P and L management, budget planning and customer management
    Embraces and accelerates change, thinking outside the box and bringing fresh ideas, in a fast paced environment 
    Makes fast decisions balancing intuition and facts
